Political Action Committee (PAC) donations
The Tennessee Sierra Club Political Committee (TSCPC) makes the Chapter's supporter list and Voter Action Network (VAN) available to support Chapter endorsed non-federal candidates.
Because of election financing laws, the Sierra Club can't spend money to advocate for or against candidates beyond its membership. When the Sierra Club resources are used to promote candidates, the Sierra Club must be reimbursed for that usage by a PAC. The Tennessee Sierra Club Political Committee has been created to provide that reimbursement.
We encourage you to click on the endorsed candidates' links to make also contributions directly to the candidates. However, only donations to TSCPC can be spent to support the great candidates which we have endorsed using Sierra club resources. These donations will be applied to support the candidates where the support can be most impactful.
The Sierra Club Independent Action, www.sierraclubindependentaction.org, is the Sierra Club PAC which supports federal candidates (US House, Senate and President). There are different financing rules for national elections.

There are no limits on the amount of contributions that may be made to a PAC, so don't feel constrained. Foreign nationals may not contribute.
If you contribute more than $100 to our committee, the committee is required to use its best efforts to collect and publicly disclose on campaign finance reports your name, address, occupation and employer, as well as the date and amount of your contribution.
Contributions to the Tennessee Sierra Club Political Committee are not tax-deductible.
